Curiosity Meets Technology – Michal’s First Steps into the IT World
Even as a young boy, Michal could spend hours in front of the computer. At first, it was all about gaming – but that soon changed. “I was always fascinated by what happens behind the scenes: why things break, how to fix them – or improve them.” That curiosity naturally led him to the Secondary School of Information Technology in Frýdek-Místek. There, he gained a solid technical foundation – and thanks to bilingual classes, he also picked up strong language skills early on.
He grew up in Vendryně, a picturesque village near Třinec – incidentally, the same hometown as pop star Ewa Farna.
After finishing school, Michal moved to Denmark, where he spent two years studying Computer Science at the University College of Northern Denmark in Aalborg – entirely in English. The program was hands-on and practical: web development, programming, and working with databases. Alongside the technical skills, he built an international network – and fully embraced student life: Friday bar right on campus, billiards, table football, and friendships that still last today.
His personal highlight? A trip to the northernmost point of Denmark, where the North Sea and the Baltic Sea meet. “That was a magical moment – nature and technology both have a place in my life.”
Career Start & weba: IT with Short Paths
Back in the Czech Republic, Michal first worked in IT support in Ostrava. The daily commute? Not his thing. That’s why he now especially appreciates how close the weba site in Olomouc is – “if I feel like it, I can even walk to work.”
Since joining weba, he’s been enthusiastic about the team spirit: “Here, people know each other, they help each other, and the atmosphere is open and easygoing. It’s a refreshing change from the anonymity of large corporations.”
Why IT at weba Is Never Boring
No two days are the same – and that’s exactly what Michal loves about his job. One day he’s troubleshooting network issues, the next he’s optimizing hardware setups or acting as a sparring partner for new software solutions. What he values most is the constant opportunity to grow – whether through his own projects or by learning from more experienced colleagues.
“I’m not just part of the team here – I get to actively shape things. And I do it in an environment that truly embraces innovation.”
Work-Life Balance: Movement, Football & Motivation
Even after work, Michal stays active: hitting the gym, playing football, going for hikes – as long as he’s moving. “Sports help me clear my mind and recharge.” Back in Denmark, he regularly played football with friends – and now he’s planning to join an amateur team here as well. No doubt about it: he’s a team player, both on the field and at work.
What Excites Him Most About weba?
The learning curve! Michal is passionate about new technologies – especially artificial intelligence and how it can be applied in real-world scenarios.
“It’s exciting to see how AI is evolving – and I want to be part of that future.”
His Advice for Those Just Starting Out
“I’m still at the beginning myself, but one thing I’ve already learned: patience matters. Listen carefully. And don’t give up just because something doesn’t work right away.”
Favorite Quote: “Fortune favors the brave!”
Michal brings fresh energy, creative solutions, and real team spirit to our daily IT operations. Usually in a good mood and always ready to help, he’s quick to step in when something’s not working – whether with a smart tip or hands-on support when the tech acts up.
